Location of the town hall

| IIt seems that the town hall of Saint-Genès-Champanelle was not always located in the village of Saint-Genès-Champanelle. Birth certificates mention that the town hall was located in Theix (Teix), Fontfreyde, and Manson at the beginning of the 19th century. From 1852 onward, the standard wording of documents, certainly imposed by the prefectures, no longer mentioned the location of the town hall. It should be remembered that the village of Saint-Genès-Champanelle had only a few inhabitants, while other villages had hundreds, and therefore it was more logical for the town hall to be located in these villages.. |
| From January 17, 1825, to October 18, 1828, when registering birth certificates for the commune of Saint-Genès-Champanelle, Mr. Jean Paul SANNES (mayor) mentioned in the title of the documents that the town hall was located in Theix (Teix). |
| For a brief period in 1828, when registering birth certificates for the commune of Saint-Genès-Champanelle, Mr. Chaucot (deputy) mentioned in the heading of the certificates that the town hall was located in Fontfreyde (Fonfréde). |
| For a longer period, from 1828 to 1861, when registering birth certificates for the commune of Saint-Genès-Champanelle, Mr. Blanchot (mayor) mentioned in the heading of the certificates that the town hall was located in Manson (Menson). This does not mean that the town hall did not remain in Manson for a few more years. |
