It is on the initiative of the american billionaire James GORDON-BENNETT that was created the motor race of the same name. There were on the whole six editions of this international motor race very followed at the time of the beginning of the car. (80 000 spectators come from Europe and more than 200 reporters in 1905, and 8 regiments to secure the race) |
