BEAUNE, village, commune de
Saint-Genès-Champanelle. Belne, 1326, 1353. Beaulne,
1326. Ce fief comprenait les villages de Pasredon et de
Chatrat. II y avait un château-fort en 1229, 1326.
Archambaud de Dampierre rendit cette forteresse au Dauphin
d'Auvergne, en 1229. En 1396, noble Ebrard du Vernet, seigneur
de Beaune, reconnut que ladite forteresse devait la foi au
château de Montrognon. La même année, noble Hugues du
Vernet rendit foi-hommage au Dauphin d'Auvergne seigneur de
Montrognon pour la même forteresse. En 1353, noble Bosquin
du Vernet, seigneur de Beaune remplit une formalité analogue
envers le dauphin d'Auvergne , seigneur de Montrognon. Pierre
de Giat, chancelier de France, assigna le château de Beaune
pour douaire à Marguerite de Campandu sa femme, ce qui
supose qu' il était important. Louise de Giat, dame de
Beaune, Châteaugay, etc épousa, environ l'an 1430, Jacques
de la Queuille, seigneur de La Queuille. (Voir Laqueuille).
En 1669, 1685, Claude de Ia Queuille, marquis de Châteaugay,
leur descendant, seigneur de Beaune, rendit foi-hommage au
roi pour Beaune et, de son côté Anne de Gadagne sa mère,
veuve de Guillaume de la Queuille, accomplit une formalité
analogue en 1698, envers le baron d'Herment, ce qui prouve
que le fief de Beaune relevait aussi de la baronnie
d'Herment. En 1789, M. le comte de la Queuille, descendant de
Guillaume et d'Anne de Gadayne qui précédent, était
seigneur de Beaune.

Antoine PRUGNE

This native of
Beaune, ex-serviceman and prisoner of war 14-18,
resistant during the occupation under the pseudonym
"le rouge" (the red), elected official city council man in
Clermont-Ferrand at the release, and to finish fervant
trade-union militant, wrote the account of his childhood
passed in his village in 1953. His book intitled
"Paysan sans terre" (Country without ground), was
publised by the editions Volcans in 1971. At the time the
price of the work was 9 francs (1,37 euros).

His work received the price Grellet de la Deyte in 1971.

The fire of the presbytrey

The presbytery of the church of Beaune le chaud located between the church and the school was destroyed at the time of a fire in 1964.
Thanks to an old postcard, here the aspect which this building now in ruin presented formerly.
