Ah cows !

Formerly, to the second world war, every year, took place a blessing of the cows by the priest the day of the Saint-Barthélémy, which as each one knows, is on August 24. This demonstration attracted many curious outsides at the village. At the beginning of the XXth century, there was a population of approximately 300 cows in Nadaillat (1 cow per inhabitant) and more than 1000 ewes. Only the ewes continue to feed on grass around the village, the cows completly deserted it today.

Stones with basins and cups of Nadaillat

At the end of 19th century, the members of the art Academy of science and Beautiful Letter of Clermont-Ferrand came to make a scientific excursion, perhaps on the indications of the inhabitants of then, who led them to discover stones with basins and cups located under the village of Nadaillat. At the time, one did not know the origin of these mineral characteristics and one supposed perhaps that they had ahuman origine and thus artificial but there are some in great quantity in Creuse what would prove their purely natural origin.
